You can jailbreak your iOS 5.1 device now

According to a tweet by @musclenerd, you should upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 if you want to jailbreak as 5.1 will not be supported. This is good news–as the 5.1.1 patch should fix the connectivity issues some users may be experiencing on the iPad. It also fixes an echo call issue for iPhone 4S users. However, if you are relying on the jailbreak to unlock your device from the telco–do not update just yet.

Tips: If you do decide to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1, remember to first:
•Ensure that you’ve backed up your iOS device either to iTunes or iCloud
•Taken a backup of SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella before upgrading and then after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1
