Step 1: Open iTunes.
If you own an iPhone or iPod Touch, chances are you already have an active iTunes account. If you don't have iTunes, you can download the latest version for free at the Apple website.
Step 2: Back up Your iPhone/iPod Touch Apps.
Use a USB connecter to connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer. iTunes will detect that your ipod has been connected, and will add a line called "Devices" underneath your Library and Store menus on the left hand side of iTunes.
